About GEM Global Entrepreneurship Monitoring

The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) Project is the most prestigious observatory on entrepreneurship worldwide.

Founded by Babson College and the London School of Business in 1999, the annual GEM survey measures and characterizes the scope of entrepreneurial activity, comparing it internationally. The 2014 GEM survey covered 73 economies, representing 72.4% of the world’s population and 90% of the world’s GDP.

Here is what GEM does!

GEM Thailand, exclusively located at BUSEM, is part of the bigger worldwide GEM network.

The GEM Thailand team provides an annual GEM Thailand Report  with specific information on entrepreneurship in Thailand.

In a global comparison Thailand and Thailand’s entrepreneurial landscape have some outstanding features:

  • gender equality in entrepreneurship (with slightly more women than men involved in entrepreneurial activities);
  • high entrepreneurship rates in all stages of business development, from start-ups to established businesses;
  • the highest rate of established business owners worldwide
